Opposite of Always - Justin A. Reynolds Review

Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds! It was a perfect book for a rainy day and it was a delightful blend of sci-fi and romance! Jack King was a very well-made protagonist who learned from his mistakes every time and made do with what he had. The relationship development between Kate and Jack was fun to watch, despite their initial interaction being a bit unbelievable. The banter between Jack and Kate and his dynamic with his friends and family was very well written, and perfect for a book like this!

Spoilers!!

Jack went through so much time travel to save Kate and he tried so many times to save her while maintaining his relationship with his friends. Franny went through so much with his father and he depended on Jack to be there for him; however, in most of the situations, Jack ended up betraying him by going to Franny's dad for money. In one of the scenarios, he also stole Franny's girlfriend, whom he had a major crush on for years. But Jack knew none of that would work. So his final plan included saving Kate, asking Franny whether he could go to his father, and leaving Franny's girlfriend alone. Eventually, he fixed it all and managed to lead a life with no more time travel!

Plus, in the end, it is stated that in the book, only 5 time travels were described, but he actually went through more than 20. The last time only panned out properly because he took everyone's help and didn't try to do everything on his own.

All in all, this book is amazing, and I give it a 4.5/5
